RRS Road Retirements are now done through the NROS Portal, please see below for more instructions.
Clients/licensees apply to retire or reassign sections and/or close the Road Permit (RP) within the Natural Resource Online Services (NROS) Client Portal. Once these applications have been applied for and go into the NROS Staff Portal the district will receive an email notification informing them of the pending application. The district staff will then go into the NROS Staff Portal and review. Once the review is done and it has been determined that all required information is within the application then the district staff will forward the application to the Line of Business (Resource Roads System - RRS) for processing and issuance.
Applications through the NROS Portal:
The following are retirement and reassignment applications that are applied for through the NROS Portal:
- retire an unbuilt road section(s),
- retire a deactivated road section(s),
- retire entire or part of a section(s), or
- reassign (transfer) the entire or part of a section(s).
These can also be done of course without an NROS application, just within RRS, but the direction of the Ministry it to do these with an NROS application.
To gain access to the NROS you can request it using your BCeID.
