When spatial data is loaded into Spatial Storage, Phoenix calculates area for the area variance display. You may see slight discrepancies in our calculation compared to what is in your spatial data. This is mainly due to the Projection in which we are storing the Spatial Data, we are using WGS84.
It is the area entered into Phoenix Connect that ALWAYS goes into the XML with any ESF Submission.
You are able to preview the spatial data using any of the Map View tools in Phoenix Connect.
Note:
From the RESULTS INFORMATION SUBMISSION SPECIFICATIONS Document. The tolerance for differences in area between what is submitted within the attribute data and what is calculated from the spatial data is dependent on the size of the opening. For openings less than 20 ha, the attribute data and the spatial data must be within the lesser of 1 ha or 25% of the opening size. For openings greater than 20 ha, the attribute data and the spatial data must be within 5% of the opening size.
