All map views in Phoenix Connect have a specific icons in the mapping tools. Every map view will have the 2 generic icons the Hamburger Icon and the Settings Icons, where the mark up map view will have a few addition icons.
This article will go over the icons in all the Map Views to help you better understand the functionality of the Icons
Hamburger Icon
- Click the Hamburger Icon expands the Layer List.
- When there is a positive Spatial Connection the item in the Layer List will be available to turn on.
Positive Spatial Match: this occurs when the GID_ID attribute in Phoenix Connect finds a match in the GIS_LINK column of one of the SHAPE files loaded in the Spatial Storage – SHAPE Files.
Layer List
Base Maps
- List of base maps loaded in Spatial Storage-Base Maps
- Include System Base Maps - Esri Satellite, BC Topo and Esri Topo
- Only one Base Map can be selected
BC Gov Maps
- List of live layers hosted by the government of British Columbia

GPS
- List of GPS files loaded in Spatial Storage-GPS
- Multiple GPS files can be selected
Current Activity Markup Layer
- If a markup layer exists for the current activity, this is where it will be listed
Activity Markup Layers
- If a markup exists for other Activities in the current Opening, this is where they will be listed
- Grouped by Activity type
Opening Layer
- All Positively Linked Opening Spatial Data for your current Opening will be listed here.
Standard Units
- All Positively Linked Standard Unit Spatial Data for your current Opening will be listed here.
Forest Cover
- All Positively Linked Forest Cover Spatial Data for your current Opening will be listed here.
Current Activity
- The Current Positively Linked Activity Spatial Data for your current Opening will be listed here.
Activities
- The Positively Linked Activities Spatial Data for your current Opening will be listed here.
Pictures
- A list of Pictures taken using PC Mobile will show here
- Opening or Activity Name will display with the Date Picture was taken
- A Yellow dot will identify the Lat/Long location of where picture was taken
- Click on the Yellow dot to view the Photo and any notes that were added
Markup Icon
- Markup Icon is where you can create a markup map for the Activity you are working on.
Printer Icon
- Printer Icon is where you can set all page settings and generate your PDFs. You can change the page size and orientation, as well as adjust the header positions. Tables for Planting and Survey Activities are also adjusted here as well.
Settings Icon
- Settings Icon is where you can adjust basic map settings
- Map Scale settings
- You can change the format of the map scale
- Use a Scale Line or a Scale Bar
- Show Graticule Lines on your Map
- Show Mouse Position Coordinates on your Map
Other Icons
- Toggle Full Screen
- Zoom In and Out
- This can also be performed using a mouse track pad.
